Hi there! The area of a right angle triangle is a concept all of us can use in life and, even though it may feel overwhelming, I’m sure you can learn it!
The formula for area of a right angle triangle is made up of the length, l, and the width, w, and we use the symbol ‘A’ for area: A = l x w. This can be hard to remember, so one way you could start with is to draw a picture of a right angle triangle, label the sides with the lengths, l and w, and then try and put that into the equation.
Now, this won’t be easy and it might take time. If it helps, you could use different techniques and visuals to help you understand the equation better, like using colour-coded images or storyboards. It could also help to say the equation out loud, and try to break it down into manageable chunks or use memory aids or prompts.
Autism, dyslexia and ADHD can also make learning maths harder, however there are things you can do to help. For example, you could try different maths learning activities that use kinesthetic or tactile learning. You could also try having someone there to help you and talk to you about the problem – this could be a friend, family member or a teacher.
