Spicy Italian Subs Deli Delight!
Ingredients:
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon basil
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
• 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar
• 1/4 cup of green olives, pitted and halved
• 1/2 tablespoon capers
• Salt to taste
• 4 ounces sliced salami
• 4 ounces sliced ham
• 4 ounces sliced provolone
• 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
• 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
• 1 16-inch French baguette

Steps:
1. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, chili flakes, oregano, and basil. Set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic, and cook, stirring often, until softened and lightly browned, about 7 minutes.
3. Add the bell pepper, reserved seasoning mix, and vinegar. Stir to coat. Cook until the peppers begin to soften, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the olives and capers and cook, stirring occasionally, until the bell pepper is softened and the onions are lightly browned, about 5 minutes more.
5. Preheat oven to 375 F.
6. Spread the butter onto one side of the French baguette. Arrange the salami, ham, provolone, pepperoni, and mozzarella over the butter side of the baguette, then top with the onion-pepper mixture. Place onto a large rimmed baking sheet.
7. Place the sandwich in the preheated oven and bake until cheese is melted, bread is lightly browned, and vegetables are heated through, about 10 to 15 minutes.
8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
