Shepherd’s Pie is a popular dish in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. The dish is made with lamb or mutton and is typically baked in the oven with a crust of potatoes on top.

The dish is said to have originated in the UK during the 18th century and was originally known as ‘cottage pie’. It was a popular dish among the working class as it was a cheap and cheerful meal that could be easily made.

The dish gained popularity in Australia during the 19th century as migrants from the UK brought the recipe with them. Shepherd’s Pie is now a popular dish in pubs and restaurants across the country.

There are many different variations of Shepherd’s Pie, but the traditional recipe is still the most popular. The dish is often served with peas or carrots and is a great way to use up leftover lamb or mutton.
