Ingredients:
– 1 Pork Loin Cutlet
– 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
– 2 tsp Brown Sugar
– 2 tsp Lemon Juice
– 1 tsp Garlic Powder
– 2 x 6cm Slices Fresh Ginger
– 1 Shallot
– 2 tsp Asian 5-spice
– 1 Star Anise
– 1/4 cup of Beef Stock
– Vegetable Oil
– 1 Bao Bun
– 1 Garlic Clove
– 1 tsp Oil
– 2 tsp Sesame Seeds
– 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Instructions:
1. Slice the pork into 1/2 cm slices, mix the soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, garlic powder, 5-spice and star anise in a bowl and add the pork slices. Stir to coat, let marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Slice the shallot, finely mince the garlic and the ginger, add to a pot with a little vegetable oil. Fry on medium heat for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
3. Add the marinated pork slices and fry for 5-7 minutes, or until golden.
4. Deglaze the pan with beef stock and let simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Cut the Bao bun in half and lightly oil the buns. Heat a dry pan on medium heat and lightly toast the buns until golden brown.
6. Remove the pork slices and buns and top the buns with some sesame seeds and sea salt. Place the pork slices inside and enjoy!
